You are invited to the opening event of the exhibition "The Lod Mosaic"

In 1996, archaeological excavations were conducted on Herzl Street in Lod, following which a salvage excavation was conducted by the Antiquities Authority, headed by Miriam Avisar. During the excavation, one of the largest and most spectacular mosaic floors ever exposed in Israel was exposed. It is divided into several panels that depict mammals, birds, fish, sea monsters, merchant ships, and is decorated with geometric and floral patterns, which was discovered in a magnificent Roman villa dating to the late 3rd or early 4th centuries CE The Late Roman period).
